Cataracts
Cataracts are cloudy areas in the normally clear lens of the eye, they can interfere with normal vision. Most cataracts develop in people over age 55, regular eye exams detect cataracts and determine appropriate treatment plans.
Computer Fatigue Syndrome
Computer use for extended periods of time is a work requirement for most of us, typically 10-16 hours of our day is spent staring at a screen! Unfortunately, this can cause eye fatigue which can be debilitating and interfere with our ability to work. An eye exam will help determine whether glasses, drops or even eye exercises can help relieve computer fatigue syndrome.
Dry Eye
Dry eye syndrome occurs when you do not produce enough tears or the tears evaporate too fast. Tears are needed to keep eyes healthy and vision clear. Dry eyes make it difficult to perform daily activities especially computer use, luckily there are several effective treatment options.
Macular Degeneration
Age related macular degeneration, is a common cause of irreversible loss of central vision. Sun protection, vitamins and sometimes procedures help maintain vision. Yearly eye exams are important because early on there are often no symptoms.
LASIK
LASIK is the most commonly performed laser eye surgery. Like other types of refractive surgery, the LASIK procedure reshapes the cornea to properly focus light onto the retina for clear vision. Corneal Refractive Therapy
Corneal Refractive Therapy, sometimes called Ortho-K, is a non-surgical option that helps correct nearsightedness without the daytime use of contacts or glasses. CRT lenses are worn at night to change the curvature of the cornea while sleeping so you can see clearly during the day.
Diabetic Retinopathy
Diabetic retinopathy is a serious eye disease that can result in vision loss if diabetic patients do not maintain control of their blood sugar levels or seek treatment once diabetic retinopathy has advanced to its more serious proliferative stage.
